ART 1035 Introduction to Art
Assignment: Image Selection for Critical Analysis Assignment


This semester you will be completing a Critical Analysis of a work of art of your choosing. This is your main written assignment for the semester. The process of completing the Critical Analysis will be broken down into four separate assignments. These are:

  1. Image Selection
  2. Description & Analysis
  3. Interpretation & Evaluation
  4. Final Critical Analysis

The first three parts of the Critical Analysis Assignment will be for Credit, but any missed work or late work will affect your final Critical Analysis grade.

This week (Week Five: February 14 – February 20, 2022) you will be completing the Critical Analysis: Image Selection part of your Critical Analysis. This will be due by Sunday February 20, 2022 at 11:59 PM.

You will need to upload a word document with the image you have chosen to write your Critical Analysis over. This work can be either Two-Dimensional or Three-Dimensional. If you choose a work of art that is Three-Dimensional, please make sure to include images of all side so the work. When turning in the image you need to provide the following information:

  1. Artist(s) name(s)
  2. Title of Work
  3. Date(s)
  4. Medium

You may not choose one of the images that is analyzed in Chapter Four: 4.3 or the image I use for the example I have provided below.

Make sure you include your name and the section # of your class on the word document.
