Due: Sunday February 20, 2022 at 11:59 PM
Materials:
- Sketchbook
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Printer
Directions:
- Step 1:
- Draw an X through the center of the paper from corner to corner.
- Draw a box around the middle of the x using a ruler.
- Erase the lines inside the box.
- Step 2:
- Draw a smaller box inside the box that forms the back wall of the room.
- Draw a straight line the from the middle of the larger box to the top of the paper.
- Repeat this with the bottom of the box.
- Draw a series of radiating lines that parallel the diagonal wall lines and slowly straighten towards the middle line.
- Repeat on the floor of the room.
- Draw horizontal lines parallel to the bottom of the box to create a checkerboard effect.
- Step 3:
- Using the checkerboard as a guide, create parallel lines to make the illusion of a box sitting on the floor of the room.
- Color in the checkerboard to create the floor pattern.
- Step 4:
- Draw a series of two boxes on the left wall and one larger box on the right wall. The vertical lines should be parallel to the back wall while the horizontal lines should be parallel to the ceiling and floor.
- Both sets of lines should radiate out from the middle of the back wall.
- Step 5:
- Use the same color as the floor to create the ceiling, filling in alternating lines with color.
- Step 6:
- Use color copies (or b/w if you do not have access to a color printer) of artworks to fit into the “frames” created by drawing the boxes on the walls.
- Cut the artworks to fit the perspective of the boxes.
- Alternately, draw into the frames famous works of art that you enjoy.
- Step 7:
- Cut out a piece of sculpture to stand on your pedestal.
- Step 8:
- Photograph your completed room and submit your image as a .jpg or .pdf to the assignment folder.
Reminder: You are graded on effort, not skill. Have fun with it!
